I have had a few stresses over this months tag because anyone who knows me know that there are two things in life I cannot get on with. One is sand and the other is GLITTER. So when the master came up with this glitter inspired tag this month I was heading for the door. But then I thought well maybe I can use my distress glitter glue (I can cope with this as it stays intact and does not stray to areas it should not be!). Out came the bottle, and it became obvious that no way was there going to be enough in the bottle to do the project, so back to the drawing board and finally I found a way to complete my tag and the result is here.
I was itching to use a few of my new dies and stamps I had purchased recently and decided to use the Bigz window die and box as my frame. As you can see it is glitter, yes but...
sorry it is non-shed glitter card:(
I apologise to all of you who are gasping with disgust, but, hopefully I have made up for your dissapointment with the rest of the project.
The background was made up very much the same as Tim describes here using different distress paints and the marbeling effect technique and edged with black soot distress ink. The background was then and stamped using black archival ink and a few different stamps from my stash.
Anne when she came down with her die and of course you will all recognise the sentiment as one from the lovely simple sayings set, another new purchase, I am in love with these, so useful.
I had to get an owl in somewhere and this little fellow was in my collection of many owl charms. He had the meanest look on his face so that is why he was chosen. I coloured his eyes with ripe persimmon distress paint .
The ribbon was coloured using the same colours as the background and then stamped when dry with the cobweb stamp.
The spider and cobweb stamp is from the Indigo Blue Hocus Pocus set, his legs got a coat of gloss sakura pen and his body was given 2 small blobs of black distress glitter glue to make him a bit more 3d.
I actually really enjoyed making this tag and for once I am not last minute with it.
Thanks for your visit.
Hugs Mo x
