Hi Everyone,

Here I am again with my second instalment inspired by the 12 Tags of Christmas created by Linda at the Funkie Junkie.  You will find all the details HERE and there is a prize sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique if you want to give it a go we have until 22nd December to get all 12 completed, so why not join in, you never know you may be a winner.  To see Linda's Tag 2 click HERE
This is my version of Tag 2

I was inspired by the whole winter country scene on Linda's Tag that reminds me so much of walks in one of our local National Trust estates on a cool frosty morning.  The Deer meandering in and out of the trees in the woods and dashing across the path in front of you.  If it is quiet and you are lucky they come right up close as they are grazing, beautiful animals.

I started this tag by mixing Frayed Burlap,Picket Fence and tarnished brass DS onto a mat and pulled the tag through it.  The result was nice but a bit dark so I gave it another drag with just the picket fence.  I lost some of the shimmer of the gold so then I spritzed it with Tattered Angels iridescent glimmer mist (had this years and its still spraying without clogging up).

I used Potting soil archival to stamp the country scene in the centre which is a one from Creative Expressions on the Christmas Post Plate.  I then masked this off and over stamped various sizes of trees around the scene with 1st & 2nd generation to get a variation in colours.

Mr Stag is a Creatable die which I embossed with Ranger sticky embossing Powder and used gilding flakes over the top.  I gave him a round eye with a little black gem but it looked wrong as deer eyes are oval shaped so his eye is actually a heart shaped gem chopped in half with scissors.  The sentiment stamp is from Crafty Individuals and the star stamp was a freebie from a Craft magazine. The stars were cut free hand and edged with gold emboss.

I used Frantage Champagne Crushed Glass on some of the corners and edges to give it a bit of extra sparkle against the misty neutrals of the background, and a little bit of muslin and lace completed the effect.

So there we are 2 down 10 to go Thank you for your visit and do pop back very soon for the next instalment.

Hugs
Mo xx

  3. I just did this one today! I think it's my favourite. I love your interpretation, Mo! That country scene is so pretty and the colours work really well. It's just perfect - the stars, the muslin: I could look at it for ages. Loved looking at this and I agree that deer are lovely creatures. We often walk in Knole Park near where I live and the deer are so graceful. Julie Ann xx.

  5. Oooohh, sensational - love all the vintage hues and the way you captured the sparkle without giving up the vintage feel. That glass glitter is just lovely - such a nice touch. And the lace and fibers are the perfect way to tie it all together. Super take on tag #2!

    Hugs,
    Linda
